Cell componentsNucleotides are important components are cells. They are needed in large quantities when cells divide and their genes are duplicated. Important cells that are directly involved in the immune system are themselves unable to produce all the molecules they need for the cell division process. The nucleotides are made available by the liver. If a sufficient supply of nucleotides is guaranteed, the immune system is boosted in a linear fashion. However, the liver can produce a sufficient quantity of nucleotides only if it is in good condition itself. Thus, if the liver is damaged and consequently unable to produce sufficient nucleotides, this signifies the start of a vicious circle which, more often than not, has the worst possible outcome. |
